“Let the tabby drowse and blink her wisdom to the firelog. ” – Patience Worth.
In early 20th-century St. Louis, Pearl Curran claimed to have conjured a long-dead New England puritan named Patience Worth through a Ouija board. Although mostly unknown today, the resulting books, poems, and plays that Worth “dictated” to Curran earned great praise at the time.
In conjunction with the label TQN-aut and the NOISE-ARCH archive Sheer Zed has remixed the NOISE-ARCH archive’s seminal all time classic cassette culture gem Junk by Patience Worth (aka Dave Bush). This is available for the very first time in a strictly limited edition CDr of 44 copies only and digital download format.
This new work takes the original album as a touch stone while deconstructing, re-imagining and filling it to the scaly gills with numerous numinous presences for your phantasmagorical enjoyment and private occult pleasures. This robustly diabolical double album of highly experimental sounds is a thick witch’s brew of magickal essences traversing, bending and blending the genres of dark ambient, ambient, drone, noise, glitch and cut-up technique.
This double album remix is dedicated with thanks to Andy Wood, David Howcroft, Dave Bush (aka Patience Worth), Myke Dyer (NOISE-ARCH archive), Jason Scott, Graham Stewart, Mark Lougheed, Ash Cooke, Jonas Halsall (aka Drooping Finger), Pearl Lenore Curran and the spirits Patience Worth and Sensei Orishi. May the spirits bless the NOISE-ARCH archive, TQN-aut, this remix and all who sail in and around her!
The remix double album, design, cover artwork and PDF essay are by Sheer Zed.The remix double album has been mastered by P23 at Sombre Soniks Studios.
