Back in April, Glasses Malone linked with his fellow Comptonian MC Kendrick Lamar to deliver his much anticipated single “Thuggin,'” which in itself seemed like a tall order. But today, Malone delivered in a big way, adding Killer Mike to the latest rendition of the cut and effectively uniting, at least on tape, two MCs that share a mutual aggression towards systemic oppression of any sort, not to mention pens that are as sharp as they come nowadays. I suppose Kendrick got the ball rolling when he shouted out Killer Mike on his To Pimp A Butterfly standout “Hood Politics,” but let’s all give it up to Malone for bringing this necessary and proper collision of era-defining wordsmiths to life. You can hear Kendrick Lamar and Killer Mike connect on Glasses Malone’s “Thuggin'” down below. Join us in our communal prayer that this is just the first step towards a true, blue collaborative effort from two of our favorites in the game. Grab the single on iTunes today.
Critics want to mention that they miss when hip hop was rappin’Motherfucker, if you did, then Killer Mike’d be platinum
