Mackelmore made news last month, announcing he’s parted ways with his right-hand man and producer Ryan Lewis. The Seattle MC is shifting focus to his career as a solo artist, getting set to drop his first solo album in 12 years. The announcement also came with Macklemore’s uplifting single titled “Glorious,” featuring singer Skylar Grey.
The “Thrift Shop” rapper now returns with a fun-filled, personal music video for “Glorious.” Known for his touching visuals, Macklemore heads to Modesto, California to celebrate his grandmother’s (Helen Schott) 100 birthday. Directed by Jason Koenig, the clip finds the pair reliving Schott’s younger years, driving around and egging houses, buying sneakers, doing karaoke, getting tattoos, and booking a stripper before ending their day by the lake.
